The first thing you need to do is to register a Domain Name. (DNS) That is the www.yourname that people type in to find your web site.
To have a web site, you need both a domain name and a web host. The host is the company that actually houses your site. Your web site files are put on its servers. Baptist WebSite will host your files 24/7 days a year. Click "Domain Name" At the top menu to find an available Doman Name. There is no need to type the extension .com .org etc. We will search all available names for you and you can choose the one you like. Recurring and Non-Recurring Billing Hosting Options For your convenience and peace of mind that your site will have uninterrupted service, we offer an automatic renewal option. Approximately two weeks before your yearly hosting fee is due, we will notify you that a charge to your credit card at the LOCK IN rate of $60.00 a year, will occur on the date of expiration. Your credit card will automatically be charged. Of course you may cancel your account anytime before the due date and all charges will be stopped. If you wish you may also pay one year at a time. (Non-Recurring) We will remind you when your account is due. What to do now Click "Domain Name" At the top menu to find an available Doman Name. In the box put in the name you would like to have for your web site. Just enter the name without the .com .org etc and the program will tell you all the names that are available. Then from the drop down menu under Hosting Options choose what billing option suits you best. Click the "Buy" box then click the checkout box at the bottom of the page. Note: If you wish to register a Domain Name without purchasing a hosting account then leave the Hosting Option set to "No Hosting - Domain Name Only" If you already own a Domain Name and want to purchase a hosting account then enter your full current name in the domain search box. Your registered Domain Name should be listed on the screen as not available. Since you already own the name it will not be available for registration - it is already registered. Now just choose the hosting option next to your registered name. Tick the "Buy" button. Then click "Checkout" At this point just fill in the required information and click the "Checkout" box at the bottom of the page. When you arrive at the checkout page just follow the prompts. |
